Awww, we loved having chickens and the eggs were the best although neighbors with free-range,organic have good eggs too.

I feel like we have easy access to fresh eggs w all the farmers around us. Also I think my husband was thinking we would eat the chickens and I don’t want any bloodshed 😆

When my dog grabbed my neighbor's 10 year old rooster Garibaldi by the neck and shook him hard before I intervened, it cured me from wanting to get emotionally attached to chickens. Basta.

I actually intend to start with layers but at some point move on to also include a few meat birds. Slow and steady, I must resist trying to implement everything at once 😅

I cannot wait to have chickens Gary! It's been a long-held dream for me. I have said for a while: the day I eat an egg from a chicken that was fed with fodder I have grown organically, without any external inputs, will be an absolutely huge day on this journey! And it will no doubt be the best egg I've ever eaten too.

Loved this article!

When I first started sharpening my own kitchen knives, I remember thinking if I really knew what I was doing, I could have been done twenty minutes ago. But I'm getting better.

I also couldn't help but be reminded me of taking my granddaughters to a seafood restaurant and, while waiting to be seated, they started giving names to the lobsters in the tank. :-/

Okay. Catfish and fries tonight. :-(

Ah. But later, when I rewired a lamp, they thought I was a Harry Potter-like wizard.

French Black Copper Marans among our favorite breeds. Aracaunas too for their colored shells. Dark orange yolks, eggs that taste like egss should taste. And how is that? Buff Orpington and another fav was Rhode Island Red.
